On 28 August, Instituto Uiraçu took part in Camacan’s First Round Table on Ecotourism. Held by the Pro-tourism Commission of the Camacan Chamber of Commerce, the event discussed the potential of ecotourism for job and income generation in the municipality and defined future actions such as the elaboration of the Park Road and Bird Garden projects.

The program included various lectures regarding the following topics: Natural Riches in Camacan, Tourism and Bird watching, successful experiences in ecotourism in the Cacao Coast, Ecotourism and rural tourism, given by Instituto Uiraçu, José Almir Jacomelli, The Cacao Coast Bureau, The Bahian Association for Rural Tourism and the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Bahia. After the series of lectures a visit was made to the Jacarecí region and Serra Bonita Reserve, which will be the stage of the Park Road Project.

The event was held with support from Instituto Uiraçu, The Cacao Coast Bureau, Indali Açaí da Bahia, Local newspaper, Folha do Cacau, The Bahian Association for Rural Tourism, Gout Special Palm Hearts and Camacan Town Council and was sponsored by Primavera Gas Station, Primavera Foods and Hotel Rainha do Sol.
