On 17 July, Instituto Uiraçu held the seminar Legal Reserve and Permanent Preservation Areas supported by The Atlantic Forest Conservation Alliance and in partnership with Camacan City Hall Agriculture Secretary and Institute of Social and Environmental Studies of the South of Bahia (IESB). The seminar was directed at local farmers with the aim of raising awareness of the importance 
of these areas and landowners’ obligations under environmental legislation. Presentations were given by The Public Prosecutor’s Office, Federal Environmental Agency, Bahia State Environment Agency, Bank Northeast, Instituto Uiraçu and IESB.
